About R.U.R.C

R.U.R.C 2011-2012

Roehampton University Rowing Club was formed in 1995 at the University of Roehampton in South West London.

We are friendly, social, fast growing club open to all University of Roehampton students. Members do not need to to have rowed before to join us. In fact the vast majority of our members haven't even considered it before coming to University. As such we have a strong 'Learn to Row' programme in place to support novice rowers as well as specialised coaching, supported by British Rowing, available to those who progress into racing squads.

We take part in local and national races, including BUCS University events, and have enjoyed limited success so far. We have strong hopes that over the next few years R.U.R.C will develop competitively whilst retaining it's reputation as a open and social club.

The club is based at Thames Tradesmen Rowing Club on the River Thames in Chiswick, near Barnes Bridge - a short walk from the University campus. We predominantly use TTRC's excellent facilities, including boats and ergos, but as the club grows we hope to continue to raise funds and invest in our own boats and equipment.

Rowing is a hard, but extremely rewarding sport, and R.U.R.C is the perfect place to start/continue your rowing journey.

Please visit the other areas of our website for information about membership, events, squads etc. If you have any questions please e-mail the relevant captain, for which addresses can be found on our committee page, or post a comment on the site.
