Roehampton University Rowing Club is the fastest growing sports club at the University of Roehampton, with a membership of over 50 students during the 2011/2012 season.
As a club we are actively seeking sponsors to help drive the club forward, allowing us to be more competitive, more self sufficient and more sustainable. We currently own a small fleet of boats and some of our own oars, but we are still heavily reliant on our host club for equipment. This is causing problems in terms of our capacity to take on new members as well as holding us back in training for competitions.
The committee's aim is to purchase an extended fleet of our own boats, alongside purchasing more sets of our own oars, to counter these problems and help R.U.R.C grow and become a major player in the University rowing scene. Our own fundraising is playing a major part in helping us to achieve this with the club seeing around £5000 worth of investment during 2011/2012, the vast majority from fundrasing,, but ideally additional support is required.
Roehampton University Rowing Club took on it's biggest influx of new members ever in 2011/2012, and against the odds we have a number of rowers with real potential to push the club forward. Over the next few years we genuinely believe Roehampton University Rowing Club could be extremely competitive in both national and University events, and this can only help attract better rowers into the club in the future. As such there has never been a better time to get involved in the club as a sponsor!
R.U.R.C takes part in the majority of the big races on the Thames each year, and our boathouse has a good position along the route of many of these races, as well as the Oxford v. Cambridge Boat Race. What better place to have banners advertising your company to rowers and public alike?
The opportunity is also there for sponsors to have their logo printed on R.U.R.C's kit and stickers carrying their logo fixed to our boats, allowing the company excellent advertising within the University of Roehampton and outside to the general public. Sponsor's logos can also be added to our website, which has seen 3000 individual hits to this date (June 2012).
